Carson Byrne is second-year journalism student with a passion for storytelling in all of its forms. Whether through films, games, music, or the people he meets, he’s always looking to hear people’s stories as well as share his own. He holds a particular love for foreign cinema and hopes to carve out a career in media journalism covering the art and culture that shape us.
The son of an Irish immigrant, Carson has always felt a connection to the world beyond his home. Having spent part of his life in Bangladesh and traveled to Hong Kong and Thailand, he has experienced firsthand the diversity of cultures and perspectives that shape global storytelling. Now, as he pursues a minor in Language and Global Studies, he plans to take an exchange to Japan, further immersing himself in new ways of seeing and understanding the world. Combined with his future major in digital journalism, Carson aspires to bridge cultures and sub-cultures to explore the narratives that define us.
